Our Current Situation

 

Nike is a well-established and leading sports brand that specializes in designing and marketing sports shoes, clothing, equipment and accessories.

 

Nike follows the differentiation strategy through the power of its brand and the ability to bring new sustainable innovations into the market. They focus on providing products that meet ever-changing consumer demand yet maintaining high quality and performance.

 

Their successful marketing and expertise in this field has led Nike to become a powerful brand, currently valued to be 21st most valuable in the world, it has become one of their core competencies. Nike reaches a large pool of consumers by selling their products through other retailers, their own stores and over the Internet. This has helped them built strong networks globally and gained vast exposure to their brand; which helps all Nike’s product lines. Their leadership position in this industry owes to the successful marketing and close identification with powerful athletes and sports events. This has led to consumers building up strong affiliation with the brand itself. 

In order to identify the strengths and capabilities within Nike that will underpin its ability to succeed in our breakout strategy, we will first evaluate the current "Red Ocean" environment of Nike, first as a company and then its position within the Sports Clothing and Accessory industry.
