Nike’s Breakout Strategy into the Sports Nutrition industry presents an opportunity for the firm to construct a Blue Ocean in a structuralist manner, by implementing its business model on a fragmented and immature market. As previously identified in the Value Chain Analysis and Value Curve, Nike, as an organisation possesses a combination of primary and secondary activities that allows for the Break Out Strategy that is characteristic of a “Big Improver”.
